Blue berries – Ripe mango

As you know my village Panchali is in an area categorised as tribal development area. The area is very backward area and the villages are adjacent as the distance ranging from 2kms to 3kms from each village. Panchali is far developed compared to the adjacent villages..hence the villagers comes to Panchali for studies upto 7th standard that time…the other villages used to have upto 5th standard…we have Mosuru,Gurivinaidupeta,Mathumuru,Pudi (a fully tribal pocket).

Since we have some tribal pockets most of the forest produce comes from those areas…In Salur which is about 4 kms from my village is the Block headquarter. Sorry all Block level offices including this Girijan Development office located there. So most of the time the officials goto Pudi and other areas…

The tribal bring dry wood, coal, fruits like blue berries, mango, tamarind, bamboo shoots, cashew fruits and nuts.

They bring these to villages and sell. The interesting part is they bring in thatched boxes and sell the whole..like my family and my neighbour’s buy the whole and share the fruits etc equally…they are very cheap and fresh products.

Tribal men bring wood bundels hanging in balance of both sides and put them on their shoulders and bring and sell in villages..The women put one bundel on their head and sell. They are very hard working as they have bring the products from interior forest area walk through 6,7 kms with load and sell..

while going back they buy their requirements like oil, cereals, rice, clothes etc..
