I applied for Country Finance Advisor India position with IWW (Interact World wide)..this position was a Consultancy assignment working from home reporting to IWW UK on daily basis and taking care of IWW supported NGOs in India in finance;
administration; HR; Grants Management…
IWW used to have projects in East India..Kolkata; Bhubaneswar; Dhenkanal;Chennai and Hyderabad..
Our work with CINI in Kolkata ..CINIhas its own direct project in and around Kolkata; some in Diamond harbour area..also CiNI used to work with local NGOs in West Bengal and Jharkhand..In Jharkhand there were several NGOs working under CINI…the large sub grant was for Navjeevan Jagruti Kendra based in Hazaribagh and had the opportunity of visiting the project many times…enrouteI find Ramgarh.where Sholay shooting said to be took place…It was a big IWW project..I alongwith Country Programme Head for India used to manage their Indian Projects..Similarly we worked with SAATHII a Chennai based organisation working on SRH and LGBTQ etc..they are working in different parts of country and they also have a State office in Bhubaneswar… It was not new to me the work they are doing as I had the experience while working with Hiv Aids Alliance in Hyderabad..but it was bit different experience..
The other project with NYSASDRI..a n organisation based in Santhsara of Dhenkanal district…I use to go frequently like other NGOs but could not visit Kapilas a very famous Shiv temple…I pass through that road but couldn’t make as I was thinking next time I visit next time..that next time never came…so hit while iron is hot…
The fourth was with Lepra..Head office in Hyderabad but their one of the Regional offices is at Bhubaneswar…here again supporting different activities including women empowerment; SRH small IGP activities and also working and helping the Malisahi sex workers..and also drug rehabilitation centers..
As I said I used to visit all these partners including the sub partners etc…we used to do this monitoring regularly..not only this but we used to conduct capacity building trainings to all partners..during the project duration IWW had discussions with Plan International to merge with them as funding crisis was there so later it became IWW Plan International..
This was one more feather to my decades of work with various organisations..
