Spices and Herbal Garden Valara: On our way to Munnar we stopped at Valara to see the spices and herbal garden. For this we had to pay about 500 rupees so that the guide take us around and explain the importance of medicinal plants and spices.
We have seen tender elachi on the plants and also many varieties of plants including Brahmi. The guide explained the uses of Brahmi. Going around we came across a plant called Sathavari. This plant also has number of medical benefits and particularly for reproductive health.
After spending an hour or so at the Spices and Herbal Garden, we were taken to showroom where all medicines and spices are displayed. Though these are useful for health and taste, one need to be careful as the guide with their skills of explaining will make you buy and one will end of paying thousands of rupees as these medicines are very expensive. So, buy only what you really need.
We had lunch on the way and continued our journey to Munnar. We could see the medicinal and spices plants and how they are grown, it was a great experience.
