Madhupetty Reservoir – This is one place we visited among many other tourist attractions around Munnar, Madupetty reservoir is a beautiful scene to watch. This reservoir was built to conserve water so that hydroelectricity could be generated. The reservoir also a source of water for the nearby villages for cultivation and other utilities..
Madupetty reservoir is around thirteen kilometers. We had to cross many topsy turvy and narrow roads. Since the Munnaar area is a hilly area, everywhere greenery and particularly the tea gardens that looks very organised..
At Madupetty reservoir, we see the lovely blue waters of the reservoir. Though from distance it looks like green may be because of the sun or greenery around, we thoroughly enjoyed the visit and we took some photos. Our family enjoyed the place as it is very peaceful and nature’s beauty.
Though we understand there is boating available, but we could not check as we did not have sufficient time and also it was little hot in the day but we had good experience.. There are few road side small shops are there to refresh oneself and the other side you will find one hotel, though small but one can get some snacks cool drinks, coffee etc.
