Kadathanadan Kalari Center Tekkady: Recently, we had the opportunity to visit the Kadathanadan Kalari Center in Tekkady, where we witnessed an unforgettable evening programme of martial arts performances.
In the evening we reached the martial arts venue. Before the programme started the whole hall is dark and suddenly found people coming with holding light in their hands. Initially they performed the pooja etc as a ritual. Then after that a number of marital arts performances were shown. Each programe beats the other one and we the spectators were holding breathe as these acts are very dangerous ones.
At the Kadathanadan Kalari Center Tekkady the programme lasted about an hour and there were fights with lamps holding in hands and in the mouth fighting with each other members. The atmosphere you will find full of fire.
In between the acts, they asked the tourists to join them and perform alongwith them. My twin daughters and son also joined them. At the end for photo session they asked us if any one wants to have fight using the knives and safety brass plate, many participated and took photos and as a token of love people used to give some money.
This visit to this Center was unique and heart beating one and will also remember.
