Grapes Cultivation at Thekkady

Grapes Cultivation at Thekkady: During our Kerala trip, we visited Thekkady, a town in Idukki district of Kerala and is close to Munnar. As mentioned in other post we stayed one day in Thekkady. During the day we visited some interesting places in Thekkady. We went through villages and saw various types of agricultural products grown. Our tour guide took us to grapes plantation. Very interesting indeed. Grapes crawling on the vines all over. Some green some semi ripe and some fully ripe. While walking through the grapes garden we find small heaps of grapes on the ground – these grapes dried out and fall on the ground – the dried grapes are aslo called kismiss.

After enjoying the grapes vines, we were returning and at the entrance the grapes the workers staying there gave us grapes to eat. We understand they do this – however, we paid them money. These grapes were very fresh and refreshing. If you are next in Thekkady, do remember to visit the grapes cultivation.
