Annual Retreat at Goa

This year – it was 2004 we the HIV AIDS Alliace team of Hyderabad decided to go to Goa for Annual Retreat and Review Meeting. We had a wonderful time in Goa. All staff reached Secunderabad railway station to take a train to Goa. The train that we took is for half way as we had to get down at a station where it has road connection to Goa. That day our train was delayed and so we had to spend time … so just for fun and spending time, some of our staff started playing cards… some were moving around and enjoying listening songs.

As soon as the train reached we all got into the train and put our luggage and once settled, we sat together, signing songs, having cool drinks and snacks. it was really a memorable train journedy.

When we got down, we took mini bus/ large jeeps to proceed to Goa. The road journey was beautiful as we could stop all through wherever we find some beautiful streams, waterfalls, beautiful sceneries all the way. One can see the beauty of western ghats greenery, scenic beauty. And even at some water falls some of the staff enjoyed the waterfall and standing below the water falls. some got some eatables around…

Once reached Goa and went to our resort we settled in our rooms, freshened up… and started our review meeting as this was an annual retreat come review meeting of the work during the year where each one had presented their work and successes, difficulties etc.

evening after the meeting over took some rest and again proceeded to beach which is very close to the resort. colleagues enjoyed whichever way they wanted. then in the night we had dinner and went to see the dance venue where whoever wish to dance they can dance and you can ask the DJ to play your choice song. It was really an enjoyable moment. Though i was shy, when others started dancing i also jumped to dance alongwith others.

As i said once we finished walking around beach then we took some rest and freshend up to go for dinner in the one of the restaurants where one can enjoy dancing to the tunes. Some pictures below:

Next daywe had our review meeting some of the pictures are below:

Then we went around Goa city to see and mostly you will find Dutch people as at one time Dutch people occupied Goa. You will find people with long hairs variety variety hair dresses and large hats…Not that big to do shopping so we were going around in the streets where they sell clothes etc and i remember to have bought some tea shirts and also small bottle of Fenni. Fenni is very famous in Goa and people whoever goes tastes and bring as a souvenir…One big Fenni bottle think we had with my room mates in Hyderabad. Even though its almost 22 years, i think i still have a small bottle of Fenni in my house as a show piece.. picture below..
