Moving to Hyderabad

After two decades of my association with Oxfam UK, i moved on to another organisation HIV/AIDS Alliance which is also an UK based organisation. It was in 2004/5.

It was tough decision for me as is the case with any one who has been working in an organisation for two decades had to move to a new environment and moving family etc.etc.

I was called for an interview for the post of Field Support Officer (Finance), to help support providing guidance, training, monitoring, financial reviews etc. to NGOs that HIV/AIDS Alliance has been providing funding support. That time Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were one Andhra Pradesh. I did well in the interview though the work is similar to what i have been doing with Oxfam though the area is specifically to work on HIV/AIDS, MSW (Male Sex Workers); FSW (Female Sex Workers) etc. for me its a new area and is challenging one.

After few days, i got a mail informing me of my selection for the position and i had to fix a date to join and travel to Hyderabad.

Finally I had fixed a date and travelled alone to Hyderabad as I need to settle there before planning to take family.

I am fortunate to have my nephew Raja and cousin Kishore both were bachelors working in Hyderabad. Since I am new, i decided to stay with them for time being. They used to stay in Mehandipatna and my office is used to be in Panjagutta area. Our house was close to Mehandipatna bus stop where they Rytu Bazar used to be there.
